“All progress depends on the unreasonable man.” -George Bernard Shaw

This blog originally began as a way to share my ideas with the world . . . anonymously. Since then, I have found other outlets for my writing on issues such as religion, sociology, and education.

I’ve deleted most of the old posts and re-dedicated this blog to advocacy for consumers and citizens. I think the best thing I ever did through this blog was to offer strategies for dealing with corrupt corporations . . . just look at the post on ASF. I was also contacted by PR folks at Comcast who tried to get me to take down my post about them.

America is for almost all intents and purposes an oligarchy. As most people, it is almost impossible to run for political office without the financial backing of a corporation. The reason Americans have not retaken our country from our corporate overlords is that . . . we have stuff to do. We know it’s unjust to pay an extra bill but we do it because it isn’t worth the time and money to take a corporation to court. Thus the wicked triumph on earth.

In the long run, serious political effort is needed to end corporate campaign contributions. This is the single greatest threat facing our country. In the short run, we need to develop strategies of resistance. Every time you stand up to a corporation, you are doing more than just protecting money for your family. Every dime you pay to companies like Comcast and Bank of America is used to secure more political power. If you can avoid getting ripped off by them you starve the beast. The money you would have spent on legally questionable fees is exchanged for goods and services and helps our economy to prosper.

    Dear Mr. Wayne,

Just came across your blog and I’m passing it on to some teachers I know. Great stuff, thanks.

My comment has to do with the visual presentation. White on black doesn’t work very well for my old eyes. I get an effect as if lines were randomly brightening and dimming.

I was able to read it well enough, but even this display (white on gray) works better for me.

I prefer black (or dark) text on a light, but not bright white, background. Just my thoughts.

    Thanks again for your writing.

    Continuaremos firmamente en la lucha,

    Will Hunt

I randomly came across your blog earlier tonight and eventually got to reading some of the older posts, the ones on religion and sociology. I wonder if you have read/heard of Pascal Boyer, Scott Atran, or Justin Barrett? It seems to me that you might appreciate some of their research.
